Green Obicular Bloodstone Necklace on Copper
$70.00
Irregular shaped Bloodstone sits on copper with silver bezel and accents. An Abalone accent stone is added and hangs on a sparkly, crimped copper chain.
Description
This is an irregular shaped, beautiful Green Bloodstone with the expected red undertones. It is set in a sterling silver bezel on a textured and antiqued copper backplate. To pick up the white circles, I chose to add a white Abalone accent stone on the left top. An angular Argentium .940 silver wire was soldered on at an angle, and the Argentium large loop bail on that. The sparkly 25 inch copper chain has crimped oval links and closes with a copper lobster clasp. The pendant is 3 inches long, including the bail. Bloodstone is known as a healing stone, and was very valuable down through time. It was said to bring health, and long life.

Maker Information
After retiring from teaching, then owning an Inn and Gift Shop, I learned how to make jewelry, the metal smithing kind. I fell for the soldering, riveting, forming, cutting and finishing stones, you name it, I am still learning new skills. There is something about the transforming of sheet and wire metal into a lovely, unique backdrop for a special stone. Like, who doesn't like rocks, pretty ones?
My local Lapidary Club has a clubhouse where I can use specialized tools to finish stones. We also have a great Gem and Mineral Show with vendors all over the world, even Australia! You will see some of his Boulder Opals I love so much.
Life is good!
