This Shipping Policy explains your shipping obligations as a seller on We Make It Local (“WMIL”) and your rights and responsibilities when using WMIL’s shipping label services (where available).
This policy is part of our Terms of Use. By opening a WMIL shop, you agree to this policy and our Terms of Use.
Shipping Your Items
Sellers (“Makers”) are responsible for packaging and shipping their sold items to buyers. If you use a shipping or fulfillment service, you remain ultimately responsible for ensuring buyers receive their orders.
By selling on WMIL, you agree to:
- Provide an accurate “ships from” address.
- Specify shipping costs and processing times in your listings.
- Ship items promptly after they are sold.
- Prompt shipping means shipping each item within the processing time shown on your listing.
- If you need to extend processing time, you must get the buyer’s agreement via Messages before changing the timeframe.
- Comply with U.S. carrier requirements and customs documentation (if applicable).
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of all shipping information provided to carriers.
- Ship to the address provided by the buyer at checkout.
- Mark orders as shipped only after dispatch.
- Orders can be marked as shipped manually or automatically when using WMIL shipping labels.
- Buyers will receive a notification when the order is marked shipped.
- Charge appropriate shipping fees or offer free shipping.
- U.S. sellers may be able to use calculated shipping where available.
- Allow WMIL to share tracking information with buyers when tracking is entered.
Proof of Shipping
If an order does not arrive, you must be prepared to provide valid proof of shipping showing the item was sent to the buyer’s address. This helps protect you in case of non-delivery claims.
Shipping Labels on We Make It Local
Where WMIL offers shipping label services, by purchasing and using those labels you agree to:
- Use shipping labels only for corresponding WMIL orders.
- Not transfer or sell shipping labels to third parties.
- Be fully responsible for parcel contents and comply with carrier rules.
- Acknowledge that shipping services are provided by third-party carriers (such as USPS, UPS, and FedEx).
- Accept that WMIL is not liable for carrier issues such as lost, damaged, or delayed packages.
- Accept that WMIL may remove access to shipping labels at any time.
- Consent to WMIL sharing necessary information with shipping partners and carriers.
USPS, UPS, and FedEx Labels
U.S. sellers may be able to purchase USPS, UPS, or FedEx postage through WMIL where available.
By using these labels, you agree to:
- Follow all applicable carrier rules and restrictions.
- Comply with prohibited and restricted item guidelines.
- Accept each carrier’s privacy policies.
Refunds for Unused Labels
- Refunds must follow carrier rules and timelines (typically within 10–14 days).
- Refund approval is subject to the carrier’s policies.
Shipping Return Labels
U.S. sellers who accept returns may be able to purchase USPS return labels through WMIL (when available).
- Available for U.S.-to-U.S. shipments only.
- Follow instructions in your seller dashboard to purchase return labels.
Shipping Insurance
When purchasing shipping labels through WMIL, sellers may have the option to add parcel insurance (when available).
- Insurance availability and terms are determined by the carrier.
- Sellers are responsible for choosing appropriate coverage for high-value items.
Fees
Shipping label costs vary based on:
- Origin and destination
- Package weight and dimensions
- Mail class and package type
Additional fees may apply for:
- Signature confirmation
- Insurance
All fees will:
- Appear in your payment account
- Include carrier name and label number
- Be charged in U.S. Dollars (USD), unless otherwise specified
Additional Notes
- WMIL facilitates shipping labels and tracking but is not a carrier.
- WMIL is not responsible for carrier performance, including delays, loss, or damage.
- Sellers are responsible for proper packaging and insurance decisions.
- WMIL reserves the right to modify or remove shipping services at any time.
