Beautiful Lapis stone with streaks of pyrite that make it pick up the shine. Scalloped fine silver bezel soldered to free form Argentium .940 backplate. Medium oval sterling silver chain.
Description
This Lapis reflects back the light with its Pyrite inclusions. The Pendant is 2 inches by 1 5/8 inches, so a fairly large stone. Vivid blue. The oval sterling silver chain is shiny and the round shapes of the links mimic the scalloped top of the backplate. The chain is 24 inches with a sterling silver lobster clasp.

After retiring from teaching, then owning an Inn and Gift Shop, I learned how to make jewelry, the metal smithing kind. I fell for the soldering, riveting, forming, cutting and finishing stones, you name it, I am still learning new skills. There is something about the transforming of sheet and wire metal into a lovely, unique backdrop for a special stone. Like, who doesn't like rocks, pretty ones?
My local Lapidary Club has a clubhouse where I can use specialized tools to finish stones. We also have a great Gem and Mineral Show with vendors all over the world, even Australia! You will see some of his Boulder Opals I love so much.
