Description
1.25 inch oval Gold Quartz stone is set in a copper serrated bezel soldered onto a copper backplate. I soldered 2 half round wires fashioned into loops just large enough to string the .25 inch brown leather through on the back. The measurement around is 9.5 inches. The magnetic clasp is very secure.

After retiring from teaching, then owning an Inn and Gift Shop, I learned how to make jewelry, the metal smithing kind. I fell for the soldering, riveting, forming, cutting and finishing stones, you name it, I am still learning new skills. There is something about the transforming of sheet and wire metal into a lovely, unique backdrop for a special stone. Like, who doesn't like rocks, pretty ones?
My local Lapidary Club has a clubhouse where I can use specialized tools to finish stones. We also have a great Gem and Mineral Show with vendors all over the world, even Australia! You will see some of his Boulder Opals I love so much.
